Qualifications & Career Pathways
(College – Level 3 Film & Photography)
Currently, I am at college learning the skills of Film and photography which will greatly help develop me as a photographer and the project style work will prep me for the work I will need to do for this career
Short-Term (Next 1–2 years)
Outside of college for the next 2 years I will be adding to my portfolio and adding to my skills as a photography by consantly doing photography. Also doing some small side photoshoots for work, like pets or local businesses
Early Career (Post-College / 18–21)
After college, I have a lot of options and I haven’t decided on one yet. I could help with documentaries or start my own business or even go to university. But what ever I do this part of my life is the start of my career and using my skills to get that career
Mid Career (21–25)
In a 5 years, The dream would to work for a big company like national geographic or BBC and work on documentaries or other work that consists of photography or I can choose the independent route of making and earning off of my own business.
Established Photographer / Filmmaker (25+)
At this stage of my life I want to have a solid job and be happy with what ever I’m doing. Like with my own business or working contracts with big companys.

These videos reflect very well on the career path I would like to do. The first video shows Rachel Bigsby a professional award winning wildlife photographer working for Nikon doing a photo shoot of birds. The second video shows the perspective of a wildlife photographer and the last video shows the story of a man going from being a beginner photographer to in 5 years getting asked by Natural Geographic to use his photo for their wildife work.

Reflection
This work has really help me to see a path for my future and allow me to make a plan for my life. Also seeing the career that I want to work in has allowed me to think “Do I want this?” and yes I do. This has allowed me to see the skills and the mindset needed for this line of work and what skills I need to improve. I have realised that building my portfolio and gaining exprence is the best way to improve.
Practical Crew Exercise
For this project I have done multible exercises to help me with recording the advert that I’m making. These exercises consist of.
- Doing Lighting Experiments
- Recording Match cuts to learn shot trasitions
- Researching adverts to see how they get thier message across
