My name is James, and I am a student photographer passionate about capturing the world around me. I have been taking photos since 2022, and it has quickly become an integral part of my life, inspiring me to pursue a career in this field. While I primarily focus on wildlife photography, I have recently begun to explore portraits and other styles as well. This course has enabled me to incorporate photography into my daily routine, transforming it from a mere hobby into a central aspect of my life. I initially enrolled in level 2 media production before transitioning to level 3 photography & film a few months later. This website showcases all the work I have completed during my college journey, and I invite you to take your time to explore it.

Photographs using Lighting

With these photos I experimented with hot and cold lighting doing one cold photo and one warm and then analyzing the effects it has on the viewer.

Example 1

On the right is a photo using cold lighting and it makes the photo more emotional and has a calm, distant feeling. On the left is a photo using warm lighting and it makes the photo pop more adding a sense of warmth making the photo look sunlit.

Example 2

Here the photos have the same effect with the photo on the left having cold lighting and creating a mysterious tone. Whereas the photo on the right having warm lighting makes the photo look majestic and dramatic.

Example 3

After taking a couple photos we had learned the effects it has on the photo and look advantage of that. Knowing that warm lighting has a dramatic effect we created a dramatic photo to compliment it. And knowing the cold lighting has a mysterious effect we made a mysterious photo.

The idea of using a dramatic photo with warm lighting worked just like we though it would and greatly improved this photograph.

The same with this photo, the cold lighting boosted the effect of mystery and improved the photo
